Installing Motherboard

I just purchased a new KT6V Motherboard and installed it in my old computer to replace an AS Rock board that lost it's chipset chip.The previous CPU was a Socket A Sempron 2500+. After making all connections and switching machine on the 4 D-Bracket lights glowed RED indicating that the CPU is damaged or not installed properly. System didnot boot or go to BIOS. I assumed that this MB probably cannot handle the Sempron so I installed an Athlon X1700 CPU.,ut with the same result. I know that both of the CPU's are Ok. What do I do next ?...
